One of the interesting issues during the economic crisis in Indonesia is regarding the food security problem; the availability and its adequacy. The research aim to study the food security problem in Indonesia, especially in Central Java, South Kalimantan and East Nusa Tenggara.
The research objectives are divided in two levels including the household (micro level) and macro level (the village level, kecamatan, kabupaten/kota, national). The objectives in micro level are a) to study the food availability, its stability and accessibility, b) to determine the level of food insecurity including its type both in individual and household level, and c) to study the household’s strategy of food insurance, as their responds to survive from food security problem.
The objectives in macro level are: a) to identify the institution which responsible in managing the food security problem, b) to study the role and network system of the institutions, c) to identify their food insurance policies, and d) to identify the potency and obstacle in developing institutional capacity.
