12 December 2013 - 10:05:54ConocoPhillips Indonesia believes that the company's production activities can’t be separated from the lives of the people living around it, not least with the stakeholders. The stakeholder relationship management has become a key focus of attention that is very important in the study and in achieving corporate social responsibility (CSR). Studies have demonstrated that the role of stakeholders in the successful planning and implementation of CSR programs is very large. The engagement process contributes significantly to the success of CSR programs in improving socio-economic conditions of stakeholders. In this context, the Center conducted research to map the stakeholders in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatera, mainly in areas where the company operates. This research used a qualitative approach namely, an ethnographic approach. An ethnographic approach is considered the right choice because it is able to explain the complexity of the stakeholders and their influence on ConocoPhillips. In addition to providing recommendations on stakeholder involvement in CSR programs that will be developed by the company, the study also seeks to establish the basis for a good relationship between the company and the stakeholders.
