12 December 2013 - 10:05:54The project aims to conduct survey on the community’s choice and habits related to the use of information media. The baseline data derived from the survey is use for developing radio and TV program in Papua. The method used is survey combined with in-depth interview. The survey is conducted in 4 districts and 64 villages which are selected purposively based on representativeness of developed and under-developed areas. In-depth interview is conducted with bureaucrat at ward level, RT, RW, and community and religious leaders. The objective of the project is to obtain general description of the communities’ access to radio and TV, preference and habits in getting information from radio and television, preference on the broadcast format and content, as well as communities’ knowledge on the broadcast program from the Papua local government. The selection of the community leaders is carried out by considering gender representativeness. Secondary data in the village, sub-district, and district level is also collected.
