Pertamina (Persero) as a State Owned Enterprise (BUMN) and engaged in the mining sector has a major commitment to support the realization of corporate social responsibility or CSR program. The CSR program run by PT. Pertamina is focusing on programs to solve the problems of education, health, environment and public facilities. Recently, PT. Pertamina conducted a program of planting 129 thousand trees in Mount Marapi and Lake Singkarak, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra as its commitment to environmental conservation. In August 2013, CPPS UGM in cooperation with PT. Pertamina conducted a social mapping study in Kedung Sari, Pengasihan District, Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta. A participatory approach was used in this study in order to be able to absorb in-depth information from the public in a comprehensive way. All data and information collected in this study will be used as an input for PT. Pertamina in developing a community empowerment program in Kedungsari, being the area affected by the company's pipelines.
