12 December 2013 - 10:05:54Parameter poverty is an important measurement tool for identifying poverty. The parameters were taken from the Central Statistic Agency (BPS) as an institution that is reliable in coordination of data collection. There are 14 poverty parameters which are determined by BPS and used to classify the condition of the local economy. Furthermore, these parameters will be used as the basis of program targets. Then the questions are: is the national parameter that is used by BPS still relevant for measuring poverty in Fakfak Regency? Could the district make adjustments in setting the parameters of poverty? CPPS-GMU and Regional Development Planning Board of Fakfak Regency conducted a collaborative survey. It served as a basis to prepare poverty parameters which are appropriate to local conditions in Fakfak. The available poverty parameters and indicators that based on the local situation in Fakfak, will be a starting point for developing programs in poverty acceleration that are really able to resolve the poverty problem in Fakfak. The survey covered eight areas, namely Transmigration Area SP VII, Woss Kampong, Siboru Kampong, Wagom Kampong, Patipi Pasir Kampong, Ofi Kampong, Wargeb Kampong, and Pikpik Kampong.
