12 December 2013 - 10:05:54Poverty and social vulnerability can occur in all or part of a population in a regency/town, rural, urban, sub-urban and border areas. Pockets of residential households could appear anywhere where the population has not been able to access the basic needs of food, health, education and income. The city of Yogyakarta faced a similar problem too when poverty and community welfare were also a challenge. Strategy and sustainable poverty reduction policy were necessary in an effort to decrease the number of poor people. Preparation activity in poverty reduction strategy in Yogyakarta City was undertaken in collaboration with the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Yogyakarta. The poverty reduction strategy could be used as guidance for policy in the future.
